Transmission, Securing to Assembly Stand

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Attachment and holding rig (3457)

• Holding fixture (VW 313)

• Holding plate (VW 309)

• Shop crane (V.A.G 1202 A) or shop crane (VAS 6100)

• Transmission is removed.

- Attach attachment and holding rig (3457) to mounts on transmission housing and secure.





- Attach transporting device to Holding Plate ( VW 309) and insert this in Holding Fixture (VW 313) with help of shop crane.

CAUTION!
Center of gravity of transmission is outside center of rotation at holding fixture. To turn the transmission, a second technician must hold the transmission housing to prevent back-swing.

• If the filled transmission is turned upside down with the oil pan facing upward, the vents for transmission housing and final drive must be closed off.
