Fuel Tank with Attachments Component Overview
1 Bracket
• For exhaust system
2 Carrier plate
3 Fuel line
• From fuel filter
• To engine
• Do not kink
• To disconnect, press release button on connection piece
4 Vent line
• From EVAP canister to Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Regulator Valve (N80)
• Do not kink
• To disconnect, press release button on connection piece
• Clipped in on fuel tank
5 2 Nm
6 Tire protection shield
• For fuel delivery connection
7 23 Nm
• Serves to secure fuel filler neck and Ground (GND) connection - 13 -
8 Overflow hose
9 Rubber gasket
10 Circlip
11 Seal
• Replace if damaged
12 Cap
13 Ground (GND) connection
• For discharging electrostatic charge
• Installed position / check requirements => [ Installation position of Ground (GND) connection ]
• Ensure secure seating of connector and secure wire with securing bolt for fuel filler tube - 7 -
• After installing, check electrical connection of metal ring at fuel filler tube to a bare area of chassis using Ohm meter - Specified value: approximately 0 ohms

• From gravity valve to EVAP canister
• To remove, press release ring on EVAP canister
16 Vent line
• From EVAP canister to Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Regulator Valve (N80)
• To remove, press release ring on EVAP canister
• Clipped in on fuel tank
17 Fuel Tank
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fuel Tank with Attachments ] Service and Repair
18 Spreader clip

Installation position of Ground (GND) connection
- Route Ground (GND) connection as shown in figure.
- First, engage contact - 1 - of Ground (GND) connection into securing opening on fuel tank - 5 - and then press in spacer bushing - 2 -.
- Ensure connector of Ground (GND) connection - 4 - fits securely at metal ring - 3 - of fuel filler tube.
CAUTION!
After installing, check electrical connection of metal ring at fuel filler tube to a blank portion of chassis using Ohm meter:
• Specified value: approximately 0 Ohm.

1 Fuel Level Sensor (G)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fuel Level Sensor ] Service and Repair
2 Fuel delivery unit
• Different versions
• Fuel pump electrical, checking, refer to => [ Fuel Pump, Testing Electrically ] Vehicles With All Wheel Drive as of 11.2004
• Checking residual pressure, refer to => Fuel Delivery and Air Induction Fuel Delivery and Air Induction
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fuel Delivery Unit ] Service and Repair
• After installing, fuel vehicle with at least 5 liters of fuel
3 Seal
• Replace
• Install dry
4 Locking ring
• Use Wrench (T10202) for removal and installation
• Tighten to 145 Nm.
5 Fuel supply line
• To fuel filter
• Do not kink
• Mark before removing
• To remove from locking flange, press release button on connecting piece
• Note direction of arrow (fuel supply or return) on locking flange when installing
• Clipped in on fuel tank
6 Fuel return line
• From fuel filter
• Do not kink
• Mark before removing
• To remove from locking flange, press release button on connecting piece
• Note direction of arrow (fuel supply or return) on locking flange when installing
• Clipped in on fuel tank
7 Electrical harness connector
• For Fuel Level Sensor (G)
• For Transfer Fuel Pump (FP) (G6)
8 Suction jet pipe
• From fuel pump to suction jet pump
• To disconnect, press release button on connection piece
9 Electrical harness connector
• For Fuel Level Sensor 2 (G169)
10 Locking ring
• Use Wrench (T10202) for removal and installation
• Tighten to 145 Nm.
11 Seal
• Replace
• Install dry
12 Suction Jet Pump

13 Fuel Level Sensor 2 (G169)

• From suction jet pump to fuel delivery unit
