Transmission Cover and Selector Shaft Assembly Overview
• First, second and reverse gear assembly overview. Refer to => [ First, Second and Reverse Gear Assembly Overview ] First, Second and Reverse Gear Assembly Overview.
• Input shaft, hollow shaft, drive pinion and selector rod assembly overview. Refer to => [ Input Shaft, Hollow Shaft, Drive Pinion and Selector Rod Assembly Overview ] Input Shaft, Hollow Shaft, Drive Pinion and Selector Rod Assembly Overview.
• Do not interchange securing bushings for selector shaft and selector rods. Identify before removing.
1 Circlip
• Note thickness.
• Determine thickness, refer to => [ Determine thickness of circlip and shim(s) as follows: ] Transmission.
2 Washer
• Note thickness.
• Determine thickness, refer to => [ Determine thickness of circlip and shim(s) as follows: ] Transmission.
3 Tapered roller bearing inner race
• Can be installed and removed by hand.
4 Tapered roller bearing outer race
• Can be installed and removed by hand.
5 Spacer ring
• Secures twelve point nut => [ (Item 6) Twelve point nut, 75 Nm ] on hollow shaft against loosening on its own
6 Twelve point nut, 75 Nm
7 O-ring
• Always replace.
• Coat with transmission fluid.
• Insert in surrounding groove in transmission cover.
8 Bolt, 27 Nm
• Quantity: 2
• Self locking.
• Replace.
9 Bolt, 24 Nm
• Quantity: 13
10 Transmission cover
• Disassembling and assembling, refer to => [ Transmission Cover ] Transmission Cover.
11 Alignment pin
• Quantity: 2
• Place in transmission cover.
12 Oil drain plug, 40 Nm
13 Transmission housing
• Differential, removing and installing. Refer to => [ Differential ] Differential.
• Disassembling and assembling, refer to => [ Transmission Housing ] Transmission Housing.
14 Oil fill plug, 40 Nm
15 Bolt, 24 Nm
• Quantity: 2
• Insert with locking fluid (AMV 185 101 A1 ).
16 Securing plate
• For guide sleeve.
17 Guide sleeve
• With seal.
• Sealing ring, removing and installing => [ (Item 7) Guide sleeve ] Input Shaft, Hollow Shaft, Drive Pinion and Selector Rod Assembly Overview.
18 O-ring
• Always replace.
• Coat with transmission fluid.
• Insert in transmission housing surrounding groove.
19 Circlip
• Insert in input shaft surrounding groove.
20 Securing bushing
• For selector shaft.
• Quantity: 2
• Do not interchange securing bushings for selector shaft and selector rods.
• Change: with edged collar for ball sleeve, refer to => [ Selector Shaft Securing Bushings Changed ]
21 Selector shaft with selector cylinder
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Transmission ] Transmission.
22 O-ring
• For selector shaft cover.
• Always replace.
• Coat with transmission fluid.
• Insert in selector shaft cover surrounding groove.
23 Bolt, 24 Nm
• Quantity: 3
• insert with locking fluid (AMV 185 101 A1 ).
24 Selector shaft cover
• With back up lamp switch (F4)
• Back up lamp switch (F4), removing and installing.
• Back up lamp switch (F4) tightening specification - 20 Nm
25 Dowel pin
• For selector shaft retainer.
• Insert in transmission housing bore.
• There are dowel pins with and without pins, when replacing, allocate via.
• Installation location of dowel pin with pins: Insert pin side in transmission housing.
26 Securing bushing
• For 5th/6th gear selector rod.
27 Securing bushing
• For 3rd/4th gear selector rod.
28 Securing bushing
• For 1st/2nd gear selector rod.
29 Securing bushing
• For reverse gear selector rod.
30 Screw, 24 Nm
Selector Shaft Securing Bushings Changed
A Previous selector shaft securing bushings without edged ball sleeve collar - arrow 1 -. This securing bushing must always be replaced, except for when version - B - is already installed.
B New securing bushing for selector shaft with edged ball sleeve collar - arrow 2 -, can be reinstalled.
• On transmission with version - A - selector shaft securing bushings installed, these must always be replaced with version - B -.
• If version - B - is installed, this can be reused.
• Selector shaft securing bushings can also be replaced with transmission installed.
