Spring MAT With Seat Pan Wiring Harness
Power Front Memory Seats
• From 07.2006, the usual wiring harness routing to connector station under front seat => [ Connectors, Disconnecting ] Power Front Memory Seats Overview has been replaced with modular wiring routing => [ Modular Wiring Routing, from 07.2006, Assembly Overview ] Standard Front Seats Overview.
• The modular wiring routing has not been implemented for all countries.
• Check version of front seat and of vehicle and perform repairs accordingly.
• Note the two possible versions of the modular wiring routing, Modular Light or Modular => [ Modular Wiring Routing Versions ] Standard Front Seats Overview.
2 Spring mat with wiring harness
• Removing
- Remove seat => [ Power Front Memory Seat ].
- Mount the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136) on the engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095).
- Attach the front seat to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136).
- Remove side trim on sill side => [ Side Trim, Sill Side ].
- Remove side trim on tunnel side => [ Side Trim, Tunnel Side ].
- Remove belt buckle => [ Belt Latch Anchorage Point ] Service and Repair.
- Remove the backrest => [ Front Backrest ].
- Remove cover and padding from seat pan => [ Seat Pan Cover and Upholstery, Sport Seat ] Front Seat Covers and Upholstery, Power Memory Seats.
- Remove cable ties - 1 - (Qty. 4).
- Disengage spring mat - 2 - at - A - positions (Qty. 2).
- Disengage spring mat - 2 - at - B - positions (Qty. 4).
- Tip seat to side.
- Disconnect connectors - 3 - (Qty. 3).
- For vehicles with seatbelt fasten sensor: Loosen cable.
- Remove screw - 5 -.
- Remove spring mat with wiring harness - 2 -.
• Installing
To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order. When doing so, note the following:
- If metal tabs on positions - A - and - B - are damaged: Replace seat pan.
