Transmission Wiring Harness

Removing

CAUTION!
There is a risk of destroying the transmission control module (Mechatronic) with static discharge.

• Always discharge static by touching a grounded object, for example, vehicle ground, before touching or removing the Mechatronic unit.

• Never touch contacts in 16-pin connector, as the static charge could destroy the control module and thus the Mechatronic unit.

- Touch the vehicle ground with a bare hand to discharge the static electricity.

Transmission with 24 Bolts on the Oil Pan

• On transmissions with 24 bolts on the oil plan, the wiring harness with the Mechatronic is removed.

- Remove the Mechatronic unit. Refer to => [ Mechatronic, Transmission with 24 Bolts on Oil Pan ] Mechatronic, Transmission with 24 Bolts on Oil Pan.

- Remove the wiring harness - A - from the Mechatronic - B -. Disengage the tab - arrow -, on the back of the wiring harness, from the Mechatronic.





• If the tab - arrow - on the backside of the wiring harness breaks off, the wiring harness must be replaced.

- Disconnect the connector - C - from the socket - D - on the Mechatronic.

Transmission with 13 Bolts on the Oil Pan

• On transmissions with 13 bolts on the oil pan, the Mechatronic must be removed first. The wiring harness can then be removed.

- Remove the Mechatronic unit. Refer to => [ Mechatronic, Transmission with 13 Bolts on Oil Pan ] Mechatronic, Transmission with 13 Bolts on Oil Pan.

- Rotate electrical connection counter-clockwise - arrow - and remove.





- Remove the wiring harness clip - A -.





• Ignore - arrows -.

- Press the wiring harness connector - B - on the housing into the transmission and remove the wiring harness.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.

Transmission with 24 Bolts on the Oil Pan

- Connect the connector - C - into the socket - D - on the Mechatronic.





- Attach the wiring harness - A - to the Mechatronic - B -. At the same time, insert the tab - arrow - on the back of the wiring harness into the Mechatronic unit.

- Install Mechatronic unit. Refer to => [ Mechatronic, Transmission with 24 Bolts on Oil Pan ] Mechatronic, Transmission with 24 Bolts on Oil Pan.

Transmission with 13 Bolts on the Oil Pan

- Replace wiring harness connector O-rings and lightly coat with ATF.

- Insert the wiring harness connector into the transmission housing while following the installation position.

- Install the clip - A - on the wiring harness connector - B -.





• Ignore - arrows -.

- Install Mechatronic unit. Refer to => [ Mechatronic, Transmission with 13 Bolts on Oil Pan ] Mechatronic, Transmission with 13 Bolts on Oil Pan.

- Disconnect the connector on the left side of the transmission and turn it clockwise in opposite the direction of the - arrow -.





All:

- Fill the ATF. Refer to => [ ATF, Draining or Filling after Repair ] ATF, Draining or Filling after Repair.
