Right Exhaust System Tract

Removing

Engine/transmission assembly removed and mounted on scissor lift platform (VAS 6131 A).

During installation, reinstall all heat insulation sleeves and heat shields at the same locations.

All cable ties opened or cut during engine removal must be reinstalled at the same locations during installation.

- Remove electrical connector - 2 - for oxygen sensor after three way catalytic converter (G130) from bracket and disconnect it.





Ignore - 1 - and - arrows -.

- Remove bracket for oxygen sensor electrical connectors - 1 to 4 - from subframe - arrow -.





- Remove the connectors - 3 - for the heated oxygen sensor (G39) and - 4 - for oxygen sensor 2 after catalytic converter (G131) (in front of the catalytic converter) from the bracket on transmission and disconnect them.

- Remove bolts - arrows - and remove torque support mount.





- Remove bolts - 1 through 5 - and remove torque support bracket.





- Remove the bolts - 2 - and - 3 -.





- Loosen hose clamps - 1, 4, 5 - and remove right coolant pipe from coolant hoses.

- Remove the bolt - arrow - on the right exhaust system tract strap.





- Remove nuts - arrows -.





- Remove nuts in sequence - 9 to 1 - and remove right front exhaust manifold with catalytic converter.





- Disconnect electrical connector - 2 - for heated oxygen sensor 2 (G108) and free up oxygen sensor wiring.





Ignore - 1 -.

- Remove nuts in sequence - 6 to 1 - and remove right rear exhaust manifold with catalytic converter.





Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

Replace gaskets and self-locking nuts.

Secure all hose connections with hose clamps appropriate for the model.

During installation, reinstall all heat insulation sleeves and heat shields at the same locations.

During installation, all cable ties must be installed at the same location.

- Position the right rear exhaust manifold and catalytic converter on the cylinder head.





- Tighten the right rear exhaust manifold nuts in three steps in the specified tightening sequence:





- Position the right front exhaust manifold and catalytic converter on the cylinder head.





- Tighten the right front exhaust manifold nuts in three steps in the specified tightening sequence:





- Adjust the exhaust system so that it is free-of-tension after the engine is installed. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing.
