Secondary Air Injection Combination Valves, Checking for Function and Leaks
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Hand Vacuum Pump (VAS 6213)
Procedure
• Hose connections properly sealed.
- Remove affected secondary air injection combi-valve. Refer to => [ Secondary Air Injection Combination Valves ] Service and Repair.
- Connect (VAS 6213) to vacuum connection - 1 - on secondary air injection combi-valve.
- Connect an appropriate assisting hose - 2 - to secondary air injection combi-valve.
- Blow into the assisting hose - 2 - using light pressure (do not use pressurized air).
• Secondary air injection combination valve must be closed, it must not be possible to flush.
- Operate the hand vacuum pump.
• The secondary air injection combination valve must open, it must be possible to flush.
If secondary air injection combi-valve does not open:
- Replace affected secondary air injection combi-valve. Refer to => [ Secondary Air Injection Combination Valves ] Service and Repair.
