Tower Brace

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque wrench (40-200 Nm) (VAG 1332)

• Torque wrench (5-60 Nm) (VAG 1783)

• Open end spanner insert AF 10 (VAG 1783/1)

Removing

- Remove the bolts - 1 -.





- Remove the bolts - 3 -.

2 Tower brace
4 Mounting bracket
5 Plenum chamber front section

- Remove the bolts - 2 -.





- Remove the tower brace - 1 - with the windshield cross brace connecting piece support - 3 -.

- If necessary, remove the windshield cross brace connecting piece support - 3 - from the tower brace - 1 -

Installing

- Slide the windshield cross brace connecting piece support - 3 - into the tower brace - 1 -.





- Bolt the tower brace - 1 - and the windshield cross brace connecting piece support - 3 - with the windshield cross brace connecting piece - 5 -.

- To do this, install the bolts - 2 - and tighten them to specification. Refer to - item 5 - in => [ Crossmembers and Tower Brace Assembly Overview ] Crossmembers and Tower Brace Assembly Overview.

- Install the bolts - 3 - and tighten them to specification. Refer to - item 12 - in => [ Crossmembers and Tower Brace Assembly Overview ] Crossmembers and Tower Brace Assembly Overview.





- Install the bolts - 1 - and tighten them to specification. Refer to - item 8 - in => [ Crossmembers and Tower Brace Assembly Overview ] Crossmembers and Tower Brace Assembly Overview.
