VAS 5051, Connecting and Selecting Functions
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Diagnostic operation system (VAS 5051A)
• Diagnostic cable (VAS 5051/5A)
CAUTION!
• During a test drive, the test and measuring equipment must always be secured in the back seat.
• These devices may be operated only by a passenger during a test drive.
- Connect the (VAS 5051/5A) to the diagnostic connector.
- Switch on the tester - arrow -.
The tester is operational when it displays a picture of a car.
- Switch on the ignition.
• If control modules or electric/electronic components were replaced, component adaptation should generally be carried out in Guided Fault Finding.
- Touch Guided Fault Finding on the screen.
- Select one after another:
• Brand
• Model
• Model year
• Version
• Engine code
- Confirm the data entered.
• Wait until the tester has checked all control modules in the vehicle.
- Press the Go to button and select the "Function/Component Selection" function.
- Then press:
- "Chassis (Repair group 01; 40 - 49)".
- "Level control (Repair group 01; 43 - 44)".
- "01- On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capable systems".
- "34 - Level control system control module ".
- "J197 - Level control system control module functions".
or
- "Chassis (Repair group 01; 40 - 49)".
- "Level control (Repair group 01; 43 - 44)."
- "01- On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capable systems".
- "34 - Level control system control module ".
- "Electrical components".
