Front Final Drive Fluid, with Separate Fluid Systems, Filling

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Old oil collecting and extracting device (V.A.G 1782)

• Safety glasses

Conditions

• Axle oil temperature approx. 20°C (room temperature) to max. 50°C.

• Vehicle level.

The transmission must be filled after the following work or repairs:

• The front final drive cover was removed and ATF fluid was completely drained.

Topping off

- Place Used Oil Collecting and Extracting Device (V.A.G 1782) under right side of transmission.

• Observe disposal regulations.

CAUTION!
Wear eye protection.

- Remove oil inspection and filler plug - arrow -.





Axle oil specification , capacities => [ Capacities ] Capacity Specifications

- Slowly and evenly fill front final drive with axle oil over a duration of at least 5 minutes until oil escapes at the lower edge of the oil filler hole.

• The filling time of at least 5 minutes is necessary for the internal oil level to even out.

- Replace oil inspection and filler plug with seal.

- Install oil inspection and filler plug - arrow -.
