Shift mechanism, disassembling and assembling 09E, 6 Speed A/T
Note:
^ Lubricate bearing areas and slide surfaces with polycarbamide grease G 052 142 A2.

^ Tiptronic switch F189 is integrated in circuit board

^ With bonded gasket

^ With Shift Lock Solenoid N110 and Transmission Park Selector Switch F305
^ Can only be replaced as complete unit
11 - Locking clip
^ For selector lever cable to shift unit
^ Always replace
12 - Bracket
^ With rocker switch for manual release
13 - Bolt - 2 Nm
14 - Actuator mechanism for manual release
Removing cover molding - A - from frame - B -
^ Frame is detached from shift unit.
- Press frame together in middle - arrows - and at same time pull off cover molding
Removing guide from frame
- Carefully pry out retaining tabs - arrows A - and - arrows B - (retaining tabs are covered).
Note:
^ The circuit board - 1 - cannot be separated from the frame.
^ If the retaining tabs are damaged, the guide must be replaced.
Removing and installing, actuator mechanism for manual release
^ Shift unit is removed.
- Remove bolts - 1 -.
- Remove actuator mechanism.
- Assemble components of actuator mechanism as follows:
- Insert sliding bracket - 3 - with tabs - arrows A - into cut-outs - arrows B - of cover - 2 -.
- Clip end of bowden cable - 4 - into sliding bracket and bracket into cover.
- Secure actuator mechanism with the flat edge - arrow C - facing connecting wires on shift unit.
