Upper B-pillar Trim
Removing
Observe safety precautions for work on airbags.
- Remove lower A-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Lower A-Pillar Trim ] Lower A-Pillar Trim.
- Remove sill panel trim. Refer to => [ Sill Panel Strip ] Sill Panel Strip
- Remove lower B-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Lower B-pillar Trim ] Lower B-pillar Trim.
- Remove bolt - 1 - on three-point seat belt lower anchorage point - 2 -.
- Remove the bolts - 1 -.
- Remove lower B-pillar trim from B-pillar until guide pins - 2 - are freed up.
- Then remove trim downward.
Installation
Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:
- Slide belt height adjuster on B-pillar all the way down.
- Position B-pillar trim in installation position.
• The B-pillar trim adjustment handle must engage on belt height adjuster release lever - 2 - and pins - 1 -.
- Slide B-pillar trim upward into headliner cut-out.
• Both guide hooks must engage in holes on roof frame.
• Function test after installing the trim:
• The height adjuster must audibly engage in each of the 5 possible positions.
• The release button must spring back by itself after pressing.
- Slide lower B-pillar trim guide pins - 2 - into holes on B-pillar and tighten trim bolts - 1 -.
- Tighten lower three-point seat belt mounting point.
- Install lower B-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Lower B-pillar Trim ] Lower B-pillar Trim.
- Install sill panel trim. Refer to => [ Sill Panel Strip ] Sill Panel Strip.
- Install lower A-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Lower A-Pillar Trim ] Lower A-Pillar Trim.
Tightening Specifications
* Insert with locking compound; locking compound.
