Exterior Mirror Overview, Vehicles through May 2009






1 - Mirror Housing

• May be removed from door without removing entire exterior mirror; refer to => [ Mirror Housing ] Mirror Housing.

2 - Adjusting Motor

• Removing, refer to => [ Mirror Adjusting Motor ] Mirror Adjusting Motor

3 - Mirror Adjusting Unit

• Before replacing, window frame must be removed. Refer to => [ Window Frame and Window Regulator ] Window Frame and Window Regulator.

• Before removing, remove exterior mirror from the door

• Pry out the mirror glass, disconnect the connectors for the mirror heating, remove the screws - 6 - and remove the mirror adjuster from the mirror housing - 1 -.

4 - Mirror Glass

• Use pry lever - rmv outside mirror (80-200) to unclip.

• Protect mirror housing against damage using textile tape above and below.

• Press mirror lens first downward, then upward.

• To install mirror lens into guide pins and friction finger, insert into friction spring and press on.

• Apply pressure only on center of glass, wear protective gloves while doing so.

5 - Mirror Heater Harness Connector

6 - Connector

• Only for automatic day/night exterior rearview mirror.

• Clip in clips - arrows - on inside of mirror.

7 - Connector

• Clipped in on window frame at bottom.

8 - Combination Screw

• 12Nm

9 - Front Door

10 - Seal

• Ensure correct seating when installing.

11 - Mirror Base

• Supplied with mirror adjusting unit delivery casing.

• Before removing, window frame must be removed.
