Subframe, Lower & Upper Transverse Links, Tie Rod & Level Control System Sensor with Automatic Headlamp Range Control Assembly Overview (AWD)





1 - Eccentric bolt

^ After loosening, perform vehicle alignment
^ Do not turn more than 90 degree left or right (that is, smallest to largest possible adjustment)

2 - Self-locking nut, 95 Nm

^ Always replace
^ Always tighten bolts in curb weight position

3 - Eccentric washer

^ Inner bore with tab

4 - Eccentric bolt

^ After loosening, perform vehicle alignment
^ Do not turn more than 90 degree left or right (that is, smallest to largest possible adjustment)

5 - Self-locking nut, 95 Nm

^ Always replace
^ Always tighten bolts in curb weight position

Note:
^ Adjust torque wrench VAG 1332 to 80 Nm when tightening nut.
^ This torque specification applies only in conjunction with insert tool T10179.

6 - Eccentric washer

^ Inner bore with tab

7 - Subframe

^ Different versions: Aluminum and steel

8 - Bolt 90 Nm plus an additional 90 degree turn

^ Always replace

9 - Lower transverse link

10 - Nut, self-locking 90 Nm plus an additional 90 degree turn

^ Always replace
^ Always tighten bolts in curb weight position

11 - Bolt

^ Always replace

12 - Threaded rivet

^ M6

13 - Expanding rivet

14 - Stone protection plate

15 - Hex bolt 8 Nm

16 - Bolt 130 Nm plus an additional 90 degree turn

^ Always replace
^ Always tighten bolts in curb weight position

17 - Washer

^ Installed on vehicles with an aluminum wheel bearing housing
^ Serves as corrosion protection
^ Always install

18 - Upper control arm

19 - Self-locking nut

^ Always replace

20 - Washer

21 - Self-locking nut

^ Always replace

22 - Wheel Bearing Housing

^ Different versions: Aluminum and steel

23 - Washer

^ Installed on vehicles with an aluminum wheel bearing housing
^ Serves as corrosion protection
^ Always install

24 - Washer

25 - Bolt 130 Nm plus an additional 90 degree turn

^ Always replace
^ Always tighten bolts in curb weight position

26 - Tie Rod

^ Closed in direction of travel

27 - Bolt

^ Always replace

28 - Hex head screw 50 Nm plus an additional 180 degree turn.

^ Always replace

29 - Nut, self-locking 90 Nm plus an additional 90 degree turn

^ Always replace
^ Always tighten bolts in curb weight position

30 - Crossmember

^ Omitted with the steel subframe

30 - Bolt
