Transmission makes clacking noise at load change

Condition

Load change noises (clacking) on all A3 and TT models with DSG gearbox. Clacking noises at load change from the area of the swivel support.

Technical Background

Loose attachment on the swivel support. Engine vibrations lead to this clacking noise.

Service





Contrary to the Repair Manual, use the following bolts for fitting the swivel support:

M 10x35 (N 910 661 01) as well as M 10x75 (N 106 802 01).

Tightening torque: 50 Nm + 90°.
