Digital Compass, Calibrating

It is necessary to calibrate the compass if:

• Digital compass directions are not correct,

• A "C" appears in the compass display instead of a direction, or if there is nothing appearing in the display.

• A new Automatic Day/Night Interior Mirror (Y7) is being installed.

The digital compass may also need to be calibrated in exception situations, such as if:

• The vehicle battery is reconnected after being disconnected for an extended period,

• A new audio system or audio system component was installed.

- Switch on ignition.

"C" must appear in the compass display - 1 -.





- If "C" does not appear, press the button - 2 - for 9 to 12 seconds until a "C" appears in the compass display - 1 -.

- Drive in a circle two to three times at about 5 mph (10 km/h) until a direction is shown in compass display - 1 -.

- Ensure the interior rearview mirror automatic dimming function is activated again after completing the calibration. Refer to => [ Automatic Dimming Function ] Interior Rearview Mirror.
