HID Headlamps

CAUTION!
Before beginning repairs on the electrical system:

• Obtain the anti-theft radio security code.

• Switch the ignition off.

• Disconnect the battery Ground (GND) strap.

• After reconnecting vehicle battery, re-code and check operation of anti-theft radio. Also check operation of clock and power windows according to Repair Information and/or Owner's Manual.

• Steps after reconnecting voltage supply => Battery.

CAUTION!
high voltage!

Make sure to disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap before performing work on parts of High intensity gas discharge (xenon) headlamps marked with yellow high voltage symbols.

Low Beam Headlamp, Replacing Bulb

Make sure to disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap before performing work on parts of High intensity gas discharge (xenon) headlamps marked with yellow high voltage symbols.

Removing

- Remove headlamp => [ HID Headlamps ].

- Remove housing cover from headlamp housing.

- Disconnect connector - 1 - at gas discharge headlamp by turning counterclockwise - arrow -.





- Unscrew bolts - arrows - and remove retaining ring for gas discharge lamp.





- Remove gas discharge lamp from headlamp housing.

Installing

Installation is reverse of removal, noting the following:

- Insert new bulb into housing, do not touch glass portion with bare hands.

• Note installation position: Upper tab at bulb socket must engage at recess for light bulb.

- Secure gas discharge lamp using retaining ring.

- Secure housing cover using wire clamp.

- Install headlamp => [ HID Headlamps ].
