Rear Seat Side Padding, Removing and Installing
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
- Torque wrench V.A.G 1332
- Torque wrench V.A.G 1410
1 - Side upholstery
Removal:
- Remove rear seat bench: Vehicles through 10.04, vehicles from 11.04.
- Remove bolt - 6 -.
- Disconnect cable connectors for vehicles with side airbag.
- Remove nut - 4 -.
- Remove latch bolt - 5 - with washer - 3 - and dished washer - 2 -.
Installing:
Installation is reverse of removal. Observe the following when doing so:
- Insert latch bolt - 5 - and tighten nut - 4 -.
NOTE:
- After connecting battery, vehicle options (radio, clock, electrical window regulator, etc.) must be checked.
- If the Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) K75 signals a malfunction, DTC memory must be erased and then checked again using the Diagnostic Operation System VAS 5051 A.
2 - Dished washer
3 - Window
4 - Nut
- Tightening torque: 55 Nm.
5 - Striker pin
6 - Screw
- Tightening torque: 10 Nm.
Side airbag connector, disconnecting
- Press catch - 3 - on connector for side airbag - 2 - from counterpart - 1 - and remove it.
