Trapezoidal Control Arm, Transverse Link and Tie Rod Assembly Overview





1 - Trapezoidal Control Arm

Various versions, refer to => [ Trapezoidal Control Arm ] Description and Operation

Mixed installation not permissible

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Trapezoidal Control Arm ] Trapezoidal Control Arm

Trapezoidal control arm mountings must not be replaced, if mounting is damaged, replace trapezoidal control arm

2 - Eccentric bolt

Vehicle alignment must be performed after loosening, Refer to => [ Wheel Alignment ] Wheel Alignment

Do not turn more than 90° left or right (that is, smallest to largest possible adjustment)

3 - Eccentric washer

Inner bore with tab

4 - Self-locking nut

95 Nm

Always replace

Tighten bolts only in curb weight position

5 - Combi-bolt

85 Nm plus an additional 90° turn

Always replace

6 - Lower spring support

Spring end rotated up to stop

7 - Coil spring

8 - Upper spring support

9 - Upper spring support

Only for heavy duty suspension

10 - Combi-bolt

85 Nm plus an additional 90°

Always replace

11 - Transverse Link

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Transverse Link ] Transverse Link

Replace bearing, refer to => [ Transverse Link Bracket ] Transverse Link Bracket

12 - Eccentric bolt

Vehicle alignment must be performed after loosening, refer to => [ Wheel Alignment ] Wheel Alignment

Do not turn more than 90° left or right (that is, smallest to largest possible adjustment)

13 - Washer

14 - Self-locking nut

85 Nm plus an additional 90°

Always replace

Tighten bolts only in curb weight position

15 - Tie Rod

Various versions

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Tie Rod ] Tie Rod

Perform an axle alignment after installing, refer to => [ Wheel Alignment ] Wheel Alignment.

16 - Stone protection plate

Various versions

Only for heavy duty suspension

Removing and installing (old version), refer to => [ Tie Rod Stone Deflector, 3-Part Version ] Tie Rod Stone Deflector, 3-Part Version

Removing and installing (new version), refer to => [ Tie Rod Stone Deflector, 1-Part Version ] Tie Rod Stone Deflector, 1-Part Version

17 - Collar nut, self-locking

Always replace

Tighten bolt only in curb weight position

18 - Stone deflector for trapezoidal control arm

Only for heavy duty suspension

19 - Collar bolt

25 Nm

20 - Bracket
