1 Flange shaft

• Without vibration damper

• Change: from build date 30 08 4 with groove, refer to => [ From Build Date 03 08 4 - Flange Shaft with Groove and Sealing Ring with Additional Dust Lip ] Flange Shaft Seal and Ball Bearing, Replacing

• Removing, refer to => [ Pressing out flange shaft ] Flange Shaft Seal and Ball Bearing, Replacing

• Installing, refer to => [ Pressing in flange shaft ] Flange Shaft Seal and Ball Bearing, Replacing

2 Needle bearing

• Remove from the flange shaft using the Internal Puller (Kukko 21/1) and Support (Kukko 22/1)

• Press it all the way into the flange shaft with Punch (VW 408 A)

3 Bolt, 15 Nm plus an additional 90° turn

• For vibration damper

• Quantity: 3

• Insert with Locking Fluid (AMV 185 101 A1)

4 Vibration damper

• Not present on all versions

• Allocate according to the color marking - arrow - or transmission codes.

5 Oil seal

• Prying out, refer to => [ Pry off the sealing ring ] Flange Shaft Seal and Ball Bearing, Replacing

• Installing through build date 29 08 4, refer to => [ Sealing Ring - Build Date 29 08 4 - Installing All the Way ] Flange Shaft Seal and Ball Bearing, Replacing

• Change: from build date 30 08 4 with additional dust lip, refer to => [ Differentiation of Sealing Rings ] Flange Shaft Seal and Ball Bearing, Replacing

• Installing from build date 30 08 4, refer to => [ Sealing Ring with Additional Dust Lip - from Build Date 30 08 4 - Installing All the Way ] Flange Shaft Seal and Ball Bearing, Replacing

6 Center differential housing

• Removing and installing, transmission removed, Refer to => [ Transmission, Assembly Sequence ] Transmission, Assembly Sequence

• Removing and installing, transmission installed, refer to => [ Center Differential Housing, Transmission Installed ] Center Differential Housing, Transmission Installed

7 Oil collector tray

• Install in the transmission cover hole

8 Securing ring

• For flange shaft

• Location, refer to => [ Circlip Installation Positions and ] Flange Shaft Seal and Ball Bearing, Replacing

9 Securing ring

• For ball bearing and sleeve

• Location, refer to => [ Circlip Installation Positions and ] Flange Shaft Seal and Ball Bearing, Replacing

10 Sleeve

• After removing the circlip, can be removed or installed by hand => [ (Item 9) Securing ring ]

11 Ball bearing

• For flange shaft

• Refer to => [ Flange Shaft Seal and Ball Bearing, Replacing ] Flange Shaft Seal and Ball Bearing, Replacing

• Removing, refer to => [ Pressing Out Ball Bearing for Flange Shaft ] Flange Shaft Seal and Ball Bearing, Replacing

12 Flange shaft with vibration damper

• Not present on all versions

• Only replace together
