Self-Adjusting Clutch, Sachs
Self-Adjusting Clutch, Sachs
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Retainer (3067)
• Centering Mandrel (3176)
• Counter Hold Tool (10 - 201)
• Grease for Clutch Disc Shaft Splines (G 000 100 )
- To loosen the bolts, install Flywheel Retainer ( 3067) or Counter Hold Tool (10 - 201).
When removing, loosen the bolts as follows, so that the pressure plate does not distort (causing shuddering on acceleration):
- Loosen all 6 bolts clockwise one after the other in stages of 90° (1/4 rotation) until pressure plate is free.
• When removing, the stop - 2 - must loosen together with the position sensor - 1 -.
Installing
• Clutch plate installation location: Spring pack (coil springs) or marking " Getriebeseite" must face pressure plate and transmission.
- Change from Flywheel Retainer (3067) to Counter Hold Tool (10 - 201) for removing.
- To center clutch plate, use Centering Mandrel (3176).
When installing, fasten bolts as follows, so pressure plate does not distort (causing shuddering on acceleration):
- Press pressure plate on alignment pin.
- Make sure the position sensor is easy to move - arrow -.
- Screw in all 6 bolts evenly, by hand, until the bolt heads contact the pressure plate.
- Tighten all 6 bolts clockwise one after the other in stages of 90° (1/4 rotation) until housing comes in contact with flywheel.
- When doing this, the position sensor - arrow - must lift off from the pressure plate.
- Tighten all 6 bolts clockwise one after another to 22 Nm.
