Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor

Removing

• Engine cold.

- Briefly open the coolant reservoir cap to reduce the residual pressure in the coolant system.

- Remove front engine cover - bottom arrows -.





- Disconnect electrical connector - 2 - on the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor (G62).





• Lay a cloth below to catch escaping coolant.

- Remove retaining clip - 1 - and Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor (G62).

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

• Replace O-ring.

• To prevent coolant loss, immediately insert new Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor (G62) in support.
