Left Catalytic Converter, Manual Transmission

Removing

- Remove left front muffler. Refer to => [ Front Muffler ] Front Muffler.

- Remove Oxygen Sensor 2 behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (G131) - 2 -.






Suspension components could be damaged.

• Do not rest the vehicle on its wheels if the subframe mount, steering gear or subframe crossbrace are not installed correctly.

All A4, A5 Coupe:

- Remove nut - 1 - for the power steering hydraulic fluid line bracket.





- Remove the bolts - arrows - and the subframe crossbrace.

• The illustration shows the installation location on a vehicle with dynamic steering.

A5 Cabriolet:

- Remove left and right bolts - 2 -.





• Ignore - 1 -.

- Remove bolt - 2 - for the power steering hydraulic fluid line bracket.





- Remove bolts - 1 - and - arrows - and the subframe crossbrace.

All Vehicles

- Remove bolts - arrows - and the left drive axle heat shield - 1 -, if applicable.





- Remove nuts - arrows - and bolt - 1 - and the left catalytic converter.





• The installation location is shown with the engine removed.

Installing

• Tightening specifications. Refer to => [ Muffler Assembly Overview ] Muffler Assembly Overview.

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

• Replace the seals and self-locking nuts.

- Install subframe crossbrace.

- Install the Oxygen Sensor (O2S) 2 behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) (G131).

- Install left front muffler. Refer to => [ Front Muffler ] Front Muffler.
