1 All Wheel Drive (AWD) Control Module (J492)

• Installed location on the A4 Sedan, A5 Coupe and A5 Cabriolet, refer to => [ in the Audi A4 Sedan, Audi A5 Coupe and the Audi A5 Cabriolet ]

• Installed location on the A4 Avant, refer to => [ in the Audi A4 Avant ]

• Installed locations on the Audi A6 and Audi A7, refer to => [ in the Audi A6/A7 ]

• Installed location on the A8, refer to => [ in the Audi A8 ]

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ AWD Control Module ] AWD Control Module

• Important signals are transmitted from the engine control module and the ABS control module (J104) to the AWD control module via the data bus.

2 ABS Control Module (J104)

3 Data Link Connector (DLC)

• Component location: Front footwell on the driver side => [ Data Link Connector (DLC) ]

• Connect the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B) or vehicle diagnosis and service system (VAS 5052) and select the functions. Refer to => [ AWD Control Module ] AWD Control Module

4 Hydraulic Control Unit

• Component location: On the rear final drive

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Hydraulic Control Unit ] Hydraulic Control Unit

• Disassembling and assembling, refer to => [ Hydraulic Control Unit ] Overhaul

• Hydraulic control unit with:

• All Wheel Drive (AWD) pump (V415)

• Oil pressure/temperature sensor 2 (G640)

• Oil pressure/temperature sensor (G437)

• AWD clutch valve 2 (N446)

• AWD clutch valve (N445)

5 Instrument Cluster Display

Data Link Connector (DLC)





Component location: The DLC for the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B) or vehicle diagnosis and service system (VAS 5052) is located in the footwell on the driver side.

Component location: The AWD control module - A - is located in the spare wheel well in front of the battery.
