1 - Rear Lid Trim

• Removing

- Pull off lock cover - 4 -.

- Remove luggage compartment light - 11 -.

- Remove Rear Lid Lock Button (in luggage compartment) (E406) - 3 - => [ Rear Lid Lock Button ]. Rear Lid Lock Button

- Remove vehicle tool kit and warning triangle - 5 - => [ Vehicle Tool Kit and Warning Triangle ]. Vehicle Tool Kit and Warning Triangle

- Remove bolts - 7 - from grip cavities (Qty. 2 per grip cavity).

USA only

- Remove emergency release handle => [ Emergency Unlock Handle ]. Emergency Unlock Handle

Procedure for all vehicles

- Unclip rear lid trim - 1 - at clips - 10 - (1Qty. 2) from below.

- Remove rear lid trim - 1 -.

• Installing

Installation is reverse of removal. Observe the following when doing so:

• Replace damaged clips - 10 -.

• Before installing rear lid trim, make sure clips - 10 - are positioned properly.

2 - Frame

• Removing

- Remove Rear Lid Lock Button (in luggage compartment) (E406) - 3 - => [ Rear Lid Lock Button ]. Rear Lid Lock Button

- Clip the frame onto the top of the rear side.

- Remove the trim from the rear lid trim opening.

• Installing

Installation is reverse of removal.

3 - Rear Lid Lock Button (in luggage compartment) (E406) (optional)

4 - Lock cover

• Remove to remove the lock cover.

• When installing, make sure it engages with the lock.

5 - Vehicle tool kit and warning triangle compartment

6 - Cover

• Quantity: 5

7 - Screw, 2 Nm

• Quantity: 2 per handle cover

8 - Handle recess

9 - Spring nut

• Quantity: 8 per handle recess

• Replace after each disassembly

10 - Clip

• Quantity: 12

• Replace if damaged

11 - Emergency release handle

• USA only

12 - Grip recess

• USA only

• Clipped into the rear trim

13 - Luggage compartment light
