Components Not Located In Passenger Compartment

1. Sunroof (with solar cells)
- Checking function of solar cells
- Depending on setting in MMI (Multi Media Interface), the sunroof closes as soon as Climatronic Control Module J255 switches over to air recirculation mode (automatic air recirculation via air quality sensor or manual air recirculation by operating the air recirculation button). This function is equipment-dependent, its introduction has not yet been finalized. Owners Manual
2. Forced air extractor
- Installed on left and right beneath rear bumper
- Sealing lips of vent frame must move freely and close automatically
- To ensure proper functioning of passenger compartment ventilation, air ducts must not be blocked by luggage compartment lining
3. Evaporator drain hose
- One evaporator drain each for drivers and front passengers side.
4. Recirculation Flap Motor V113
- With Recirculation Flap Motor Position Sensor G143
5. Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor G89
- Removing and installing, checking resistance value
6. Air Flow Flap Motor V71
- With Back Pressure Flap Motor Position Sensor G113
7. Service connection
- Low pressure side
- Used for measuring, discharging and recharging by A/C system service point workshops
- Cap with seal; always to be screwed on
8. Outside Air Temperature Sensor G17
- Removing: Remove bumper
- Unplug connector at temperature sensor and unclip from mount in air duct
- Measured value of Outside Air Temperature Sensor G17 is evaluated by Instrument Cluster Control Module J285 and transmitted via Comfort CAN-Bus system to Climatronic Control Module J255. Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 in "Guided Fault Finding" function
9. Pump-valve unit
- Consists of Left Heat Regulating Valve N175 and Right Heat Regulating Valve N176 and Coolant Pump V50
- Replace
10. Air Quality Sensor G238
- Depending on setting in MMI (Multi Media Interface), the sunroof closes as soon as Climatronic Control Module J255 switches over to air-recirculation mode (automatic air recirculation via air quality sensor or manual air recirculation by operating the air recirculation button). This function is equipment-dependent, its introduction has not yet been finalized. Owners Manual
11. Plenum chamber water drain
12. Heated Windshield Z2
- Actuation is effected via Heated Windshield Control Module J505 (installed in luggage compartment on right beneath battery A)
- Removing and installing front windshield
13. Union in refrigerant pipe (with restrictor)
- Threaded connection must only be opened with refrigerant circuit discharged; deliver vehicle to an A/C system service point workshop
14. Service connection
- High pressure side
- Used for measuring, discharging and recharging by A/C system service point workshops
- Cap with seal; always to be screwed on
15. Accumulator
- Must only be removed with refrigerant circuit discharged; deliver vehicle to an A/C system service point workshop
16. A/C Compressor Regulator Valve N280
17. Compressor
- Removing compressor from bracket and installing in vehicles with, 8-cyl. MPI engine
- Removing compressor from bracket and re-installing in vehicles with 12-cyl. engine
- Compressor, removing and installing in vehicles with 8-cyl. FSI engine
- Compressor, removing and installing in vehicles with 10-cyl. engine
- Refrigerant line, disconnecting from compressor and connecting
- Compressor, removing and installing (basics)
- Removing compressor with drive unit (shaft) from bracket and re-installing (vehicles with 8-cyl. FSI engine or 10-cylinder engine)
- Replacing compressor drive unit (vehicles with 8-cyl. FSI or 10-cyl. engine)
- Type of compressor differs depending on engine (8, 10 or 12-cyl. engine)
- Ribbed belt, removing and installing:
- Depending on compressor type ("6 SEU 14", "7 SEU 16" or "7 SEU 17") different refrigerant oil fill capacities are designated for the refrigerant circuit
18. High Pressure Sensor G65
- Measured value of sensor is displayed in function "Read measuring value block" display group "001" of Climatronic Control Module J255 and Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 in "Guided Fault Finding" function.
19. Condenser
- Must only be removed with refrigerant circuit discharged; deliver vehicle to an A/C system service point workshop
- Different versions (power steering fluid cooler is installed too depending on vehicle equipment)
20. Coolant Fan V7
- Request to switch on coolant fan is transmitted to engine control module by Climatronic Control Module J255 via CAN bus system. Engine Control Module (ECM) then activates fans or Coolant Fan Control (FC)Control Module J293.
- The respective Engine Control Module (ECM) switches Coolant Fans (via Coolant Fan Control (FC) Control Module J293) continuously to desired output. Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 in "Guided Fault Finding" function
- Different versions are installed depending on vehicle equipment. Parts Catalog
- Check activation by A/C control head Climatronic Control Module J255 (Read measuring value block, display group "022") Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 in "Guided Fault Finding" function.
21. Fresh Air Blower Control Module J126
