Steering Wheel
• Removing and installing the steering wheel is the same for all steering wheel versions.
• On steering wheels with heater, the connector for steering wheel heater is also to be disconnected.
1 - Steering wheel
- Remove airbag unit - 5 - => [ Driver Airbag ] Driver Airbag.
- Bring steering wheel to center position (wheels straight).
- Remove hex socket heat bolt - 4 -.
- With steering wheel heating: Remove steering wheel heating connector - 11 -.
- If the steering wheel that will be removed should be re-installed, then mark position of steering wheel to steering column.
- Remove steering wheel - 1 -.
• Installing
When installing steering wheel, wheels must be in straight-ahead position.
- Install steering wheel - 1 -.
When installing steering wheel that was removed: Ensure markings on steering column and steering wheel align.
When installing a new steering wheel (without marking): steering wheel must be positioned in center position (steering wheel spokes must be horizontal and wheels in straight-ahead position).
- Install new hex socket head bolt - 4 - and tighten to specified torque.
- With steering wheel heating: Connect connector for steering wheel heater - 11 - to coupling for steering wheel heater - 13 -. Connector - 11 - must engage completely (audibly).
- Install airbag unit => => [ Driver Airbag ] Driver Airbag.
- Perform test drive.
- If steering wheel is crooked, remove again and place on steering column splines.
2 - Torx bolts (T30) (Qty. 2)
• Tightening torque: 7 Nm

7 - Airbag unit connector
• coded mechanically against interchange
8 - Spiral spring connector
9 - Airbag unit connector
• coded mechanically against interchange
10 - Multi-function steering wheel connector
11 - Steering wheel heating connector
12 - Coil connector with slip ring
13 - Coupling for steering wheel heater
14 - Coupling for airbag unit
