1 Seal

• Replace

2 Frame with recirculated-air opening

3 Wiring harness for heating and A/C unit

• Different versions on vehicles with or without the Rear A/C Control Head (Climatronic) (E265), vehicles manufactured through and from December 03. Refer to=> [ Recirculation Door Motor ] .

• A/C unit electrical connections:

• Mark all connectors before disconnecting from electrical components risk of interchange

• After assembly, reattach all wiring harness brackets removed.

• Seal grommets in plenum chamber through which wiring harness is routed into A/C unit to Fresh Air Blower Control Module (J126)) or beneath covers to Air Flow Door Motor (V71) and to Recirculation Door Motor (V113)) with Silicone Adhesive Sealant (D 176 001 A3) to prevent ingress of water through or past grommet into A/C unit or actuator.

15 Evaporator Vent Temperature Sensor (G263)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Evaporator Vent ] Service and Repair

• Ensure firm attachment

• If heater core is replaced without removing, install clamp instead of clip. Refer to => [ Right Heat Exchanger ] Service and Repair.

21 Left heater core

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Left Heat Exchanger ] Service and Repair

• With seal to A/C unit housing

• Before installation, check foam seal at heater core

• Seal may curl up on insertion if not correctly bonded on.

• Cold air may flow past heat exchanger if seal is damaged or not properly fitted.

22 Right heater core

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Right Heat Exchanger ] Service and Repair

• With seal to A/C unit housing see note on left heater core

23 Top right coolant pipe
