Centering Steering

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque wrench (5-50 Nm) (VAG 1331)

• Steering centering bolt (VAS 6224)

The steering centering locking bolt - arrow - is located between the boot and the adjusting unit.

1 Locking bolt 22 Nm
2 Install the (VAS 6224) as far as possible by hand.
3 Steering rack
4 Steering gear housing

- Move the steering wheel slightly out of the center position.

- A second technician rotates the (VAS 6224) - 2 - in the steering gear until it engages in the centering hole.
