Torque Support Bracket

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Drill

• Stepped quick-helix drill (dia. 24 mm)

Removing

- Turn ignition and remove ignition key.

- Turn light switch to "0" position.

- Remove both front wheels.

• Secure brake discs using wheel bolts.

- Loosen quick-release fasteners - 1 - and remove front noise insulation. Rear section of noise insulation remains installed.





- Remove front part of wheel housing liner at left and right front.

- Remove front bumper cover.

- Disconnect electrical connector - 1 - for right mass air flow sensor.





- Disconnect air duct hose - 4 - at intake manifold.

- Unhook retainer for connections - 2 - and - 3 - at upper part of air filter housing.

- Remove bolts - arrows -.

- Remove upper part of right air filter housing.

- Remove air duct - 1 -.





- Remove bolts - arrows -.

- Remove lower part of right air filter housing.

- Remove right headlamp.

- Depress locking mechanisms - arrows - and remove air guide at right front from lock carrier.





- Remove bolts - arrows -.





- Remove air guide at right rear from lock carrier.

- Mark holes according to dimensions - a - and - b - at lock carrier as shown.





• Dimension - a - = 40 mm.

• Dimension - b - = 55 mm

- Make a bore 24 mm dia.

• The bore must be pre-bored and then drilled to 24 mm dia. using the stepped quick-helix drill.

- Remove bolts - 1 - and - 2 - on torque support bracket.





- Loosen bolt - 3 - several turns.

- Remove bolt - arrow - at torque support mount.





- Remove bolts - 2 - and - 3 -.





- Tilt torque support bracket to the side and disconnect the electrical connector - 1 -.

- Remove torque support bracket.

Installing

- Connect electrical connector - 1 - to torque support bracket.





- Insert torque support bracket and tighten bolts - 2 - and - 3 -.

- Turn adjustment ring - 1 - on torque support bracket clockwise as far as stop.





- Tighten bolts - 1 - to - 3 - on torque support bracket.





- Turn adjusting ring - 1 - by hand counterclockwise until it makes contact with the torque support bracket.





- Then, turn adjustment ring one rotation clockwise again.

- Tighten bolt - arrow - on torque support mount.





The rest of installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following.

- Install front and rear air ducts on the lock carrier.

- Install front bumper cover.
