• Ring spanner 7-piece set (3337)
Removing
- Remove engine.
• The engine/transmission assembly remains on the scissor lift table (VAS 6131).
- Separate following oxygen sensor connections:
3 Oxygen Sensor (O2S) 3 Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) (-G287-)
4 Oxygen Sensor (O2S) Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) (-G130-)
5 Oxygen Sensor (O2S) 2 Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) (-G131-)
6 Oxygen Sensor (O2S) 4 Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) (-G288-)
- Remove oxygen sensor after catalytic converter at left side of vehicle.
- Remove oxygen sensor after catalytic converter at right side of vehicle.
Installing
Perform installation in reverse order of removal, noting the following:
• New oxygen sensors are coated with assembly paste; the paste must not get into the slots on the oxygen sensor body.
• When re-installing a used oxygen sensor, coat the threads with hot bolt paste. This paste must not come into contact with the slots on the oxygen sensor body.
• During installation, all cable ties must be re-installed at the same location.
• Wires of oxygen sensors must always be secured in the same position when installing so that contact with the exhaust pipe is avoided.
- Install engine.
