Seat Forward/Back Adjustment Motor V288
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095)
• Fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136)
• Move the seat up if possible.
• If the motor is faulty, the complete lower seat pan frame must be replaced.
• Seat is shown without upholstery and without backrest in picture for the sake of a better illustration.
Removing
Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and General Information ] Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and General Information.
- Remove the front seat. Refer to => [ Front Seat in Case of a Faulty Control Module or Seat Forward/Back Adjustment Motor ] Front Seat In Case of a Faulty Control Module or Seat Forward/Back Adjustment Motor.
- Separate the seat pan upper frame from the lower frame. Refer to => [ Seat Pan, Disassembling and Assembling ] Seat Pan, Disassembling and Assembling.
Installation
Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and General Information ] Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and General Information.
- Assemble the new lower seat pan frame, and the transverse member and traverse and the seat forward/back adjustment motor (V288) to the upper seat pan frame. Refer to => [ Seat Pan, Disassembling and Assembling ] Seat Pan, Disassembling and Assembling.
- Connect the connector to the seat forward/back adjustment motor (V288).
- Install the front seat. Refer to => [ Front Seat ] Front Seat.
