Data Link Connector (DLC)

Location: Diagnostic connector is located in passenger side footwell.





The following listed components can be tested in "Guided Fault Finding" with vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system (VAS 5051 A).

Mechatronic unit





The mechatronics unit incorporates the hydraulic control, the Transmission Control Module (TCM), the Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch and the sensors and actuators as a complete synchronized unit. It contains the following components.

• Transmission Control Module (TCM) (J217)

• Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch (F125)

• Transmission Input Speed (RPM) Sensor (G182)

• Transmission Output Speed (RPM) Sensor (G195)

• Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor (G93)

• Solenoid and pressure control valves

The "mechatronics" unit can only be replaced as a complete unit.

• All components mentioned are tested by On Board Diagnostics (OBD).

Location: The mechatronics unit is bolted to the underside of the transmission housing and is covered by the transmission oil pan.

Selector Lever Transmission Range (TR) Position Display (Y26)





Location: The Selector Lever Transmission Range (TR) Position Display (Y26) is located near selector lever, display with "P, R, N, D, S".

Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module (J587) with Tiptronic Switch (F189)





Location: The Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module (J587) with Tiptronic Switch (F189) is located on selector mechanism, under shifter boot.

• Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module (J587) with Tiptronic Switch (F189) are combined in one component.

• Tiptronic Switch (F189) magnets are secured to cover.

Shift lock solenoid (N110)





Location: Shift Lock Solenoid (N110) is located on selector mechanism.

Transmission Range (TR) Display (Y6)





Location: Integrated into instrument cluster

• The Transmission Range (TR) Display (Y6) can only be replaced together with instrument cluster.
