Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Trim Removal Wedge (3409)

Removing






- Fold the center armrest - 3 - upward.

- Open the cover - 1 - above the cupholders.

- Remove the trim - 2 - using the (3409).

- Pry the caps - 4 - off the screws.






- Remove screws - 1, 3, 5 -.

- Pry the cooler - item 2 - out of the multi-box using the (3409) - arrows -.








Danger of damaging the compressor, the refrigerant lines and the cooler.

Do not bend the coolant lines and hoses between the compressor and cooler.

- Carefully push the cooler to the right - arrow - until the hinge bolts are accessible.

- Remove the bolts - 1 - and - 2 -.

- Pull the cooler and compressor a little bit to the rear - arrow - and disconnect the connect - 1 -.






- Carefully remove the cooler - 2 - and compressor - 3 - from the multi-box.

Installing






Installation is reverse of removal, noting the following:

- Make sure the edge protectors - 2 - and - 3 - are installed - 1 -.

- Install the cooler and compressor into the multi-fox and connect the connector - 4 -.

- Mount the compressor on the edge protector and tighten the screws.

The cooler must move easily.

If it is not easy to move the compressor, then pull it out just far enough so that the edge protector can be mounted on the multi-box mount.

- Push the cooler (J698) into the multi-box until the retaining clamps engage audibly.
