Seat Forward/Back Adjustment Motor (V288)
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Engine and Gearbox Support (VAS6095)
• Seat Repair Stand (VAS6136)
• Move the seat up if possible.
• If the motor is faulty, the complete lower seat pan frame must be replaced.
• Seat is shown without upholstery and without backrest in picture for the sake of a better illustration.
Removing
Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components General Safety Precautions ] .
- Remove the front seat. Refer to => [ Removing Front Seat With Faulty Control Module Or Seat Forward/Back Adjustment Motor ] Removing Front Seat With Faulty Control Module Or Seat Forward/Back Adjustment Motor.
- Separate the seat pan upper frame from the lower frame. Refer to => [ Seat Pan, Power Front Seats ] Seat Pan, Power Front Seats.
Installing
Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components General Safety Precautions ] .
- Assemble the new lower seat pan frame, and the transverse member and the seat forward/back adjustment motor (V288) to the upper seat pan frame. Refer to => [ Seat Pan, Power Front Seats ] Seat Pan, Power Front Seats.
- Connect the connector to the seat forward/back adjustment motor.
- Install the front seat. Refer to => [ Front Seat ] Front Seat.
