Affected Vehicles

Condition

Wind noises from the sunroof or noises when opening or closing panorama sunroof.

Technical Background

Adjustment of sunroof cover may be necessary. The following detailed adjustment instructions are in addition to the repair manual.

Production Solution

Changed production process to ensure correct adjustment.

Service

1. Clear the sunroof area of any debris before opening or adjusting panels. This will prevent any debris from falling onto the rails.

2. Measure the dimensions at several points on each of the three sunroof panels (front panel, middle panel, and rear panel).

Adjust the panels if necessary.

The gaps, labeled in Figure 1, should measure as listed below (in mm):

A = -1.2 +/- 0.5

B = 0 +/- 0.5

C = -0.6 +/- 0.5

D = 0.4 +/- 0.5

E = 10

F = 1.5

G = 1.5

H = 11

The gap labeled A in Figure 2 should measure 11 mm.

To avoid tension in the glass panel, tighten the screws in sequence depicted in Figure 3.
