Navigation DVD can't be ejected

Condition

The Navigation DVD can't be ejected. No DTCS are stored in the Navigation module, and the Eject button is not stuck. When pushing the Eject button, the drive does not sound as if it is trying to eject the DVD.

Technical Background

All vehicles equipped with Navigation systems now have the Navigation DVD installed at production. To prevent theft of the DVD during transportation, the Eject function of the Navigation drive is disabled. The Navigation system itself, e.g. route guidance, functions as specified.

Production Solution

Not applicable.

Service

Use the VAS Tester to enable the Eject button of the Navigation drive.





For Navigation plus equipped vehicles only: In Guided Functions, select 37 - Navigation Plus (RNS-E). Only then will the function Service work be displayed in the next menu.

Most Navigation - equipped vehicles (A6, A8, Audi Q7) do not require specific selection. Service work is automatically displayed in the Guided Function menu.





Select Service work in Guided Functions.





Then select J401 - Navigation Syst. w. CD Drive, unlock/lock eject button.





Run the test plan.

Verify Eject function.
