Control Module: Service and Repair






Transmission Control Module

Removing

- Perform Guided Fault Finding or Guided Functions before replacing or removing the control module. Refer to vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.

- Read out the control module identification and coding from the previous transmission control module (TCM) (J217).

- Turn off the ignition and remove the key.

- Remove the front passenger seat.

- Open the drawer - 1 - under the front passenger seat.





- Release the clips on the back of the cover - 2 - in the - direction of arrow A -.

- Remove the cover from the front passenger seat bracket in the - direction of arrow B -.

- Remove the bolt - 4 -.





- Disconnect the connectors - 1 and 2 -.

- Remove the mount - 3 - and control modules upward.

- Open the clips - arrows - and pull the TCM - 3 - until it stops. If necessary, release the clips again and remove the control module from the mount.





Installing





Install in reverse order, pay attention to the following:

- Connect the connectors - 1 and 2 - to the control modules.

- Install the front passenger seat.
