HID Headlamp Housing






HID Headlamp Housing

CAUTION!
Danger to life due to high voltage.

Headlamps must be adjusted after performing measures that could influence headlamp adjustment. Refer to => [ Headlamps, Checking and Adjusting ] Adjustments.

Observe notes on contact corrosion. Refer to => [ Contact Corrosion ] Service Precautions.

Removing

- With ignition switched off, disconnect battery ground wire. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.





- Remove the luggage compartment seal - 2 - in the bumper trim area.

- Loosen the quick-release fasteners - 1 and 4 -.

- Pull the bumper trim - 3 - up - arrow A -. This releases the retaining tabs - arrows -.

- Remove the rubber strip - 2 -.





- Loosen the quick-release fasteners - arrows -.

- Remove the headlamp/wheel housing trim - 1 - from the retaining groove in the luggage compartment liner and guide it out at the front lid hinge.

- Remove bolt - 2 -.





- Loosen the bolts - 1 and 3 - on the bottom of the headlamp housing several turns.

- Unplug connector.

- Remove headlamp - 4 - toward front from body.

Installing





Tightening specification, refer to => [ Bi-Xenon HID Headlamps Assembly Overview ] Bi-Xenon HID Headlamps Assembly Overview.

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

- Check adjustment nut - 1 - of adjusting element for smooth running - arrows -.

- Turn adjustment nut completely downward, but do not tighten.

- Insert headlamp.

- Align headlamp to contours of body (gap widths).

- Tighten bolts - 1 and 3 -.





When tightening the bolts, the adjusting nuts on the adjusters rotate toward headlamp housing mounting point - 4 - and secure it.

- Tighten screws - 2 -.

- Adjust headlamps. Refer to => [ Headlamps, Checking and Adjusting ] Adjustments.

- Install the trim.
