Vehicle Alignment Work Procedure Overview

Vehicle must only be measured at curb weight. Refer to => [ Test Prerequisites ] Test Prerequisites!

Check which suspension is installed in the vehicle. This information can be found on the vehicle data plate. Refer to => [ Production Relevant Numbers, Explanatory Notes ] Application and ID.

Observe the following work sequence:

1 If necessary, check steering rack center position. Refer to => [ Mechanical Center Position of Rack, Checking ] Mechanical Center Position of Rack, Checking.
2 Perform wheel run-out compensation. Refer to => [ Rim Run-Out Compensation ] Procedures.
3 Check rear axle camber and adjust if necessary. Refer to => [ Rear Axle Camber, Adjusting ] [1][2]Rear Axle Camber, Adjusting.
4 Check rear axle toe and adjust if necessary. Refer to => [ Rear Axle Toe, Adjusting ] [1][2]Rear Axle Toe, Adjusting.
5 Check front axle camber and adjust if necessary. Refer to => [ Front Axle Camber, Adjusting ] Front Axle Camber, Adjusting.
6 Check front axle toe and adjust if necessary. Refer to => [ Front Axle Toe, Adjusting ] Front Axle Toe, Adjusting.

If adjustments have been made on the suspension, perform a zero adjustment on the steering angle sensor (G85) using the Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051 B).

If the rear suspension setting was corrected, the rearview camera system in vehicles with this system must be calibrated.
