Control Module Access, Replacing or Coding with VAS 5051B
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051B) with corresponding diagnostic cable.
If testing equipment is needed on road tests, follow the information below:
CAUTION!
Distraction and testing equipment that is not secured properly increase the risk of an accident.
The passenger airbag could be dangerous if it deploys during an accident.
• Operating testing equipment while driving is a distraction.
• Testing equipment that is not secured probably increases the risk of injury.
• Move the passenger seat as far back as possible.
• Only use the vehicle diagnosis and service system (VAS 5052) or diagnostic system (VAS 5053).
• Testing equipment - 1 - must lie flat on the passenger's lap as shown in the illustration and must only be operated by that passenger.
- Connect (VAS 5051B) with corresponding diagnostic cable to vehicle.
- Switch (VAS 5051B) on.
(VAS 5051B) is ready to operate when it displays operating modes in button fields.
- Switch on ignition.
- Touch Guided Fault Finding on screen.
Then:
- Tire pressure monitoring system J502
- Coding control module
or
- Replacing control module
