Climatronic Control Module

• On the Audi R8 Spyder only one control head, the Climatronic Control Module (J255) with software above version 080 may be installed (the changed regulation functions for the Spyder are contained only starting with this version). The new software has been included in production without changing the part number. Refer to Vehicle Diagnosis, testing and Information System VAS 5051/ in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.

Removing

- If the Climatronic control module will be replaced, check the coding and adaptation of the Climatronic control module using the "Replace control module" function in "Guided Fault Finding" of the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051/.

- Note the general information. Refer to => [ Climatronic Control Module ] Description and Operation.

- Switch off ignition.

- Remove the center console right side trim.

- Press the retaining spring - B - back with a small screwdriver - C - through the opening in the front center console.





- Remove the Climatronic control module - A - from the front center console - arrow -.

- Loosen the retainers on the connector - E - and remove it.





- Carefully turn the Climatronic control module - F - 180°.

- Release the connectors - A through D - by pressing the retaining tabs - G - and remove them.

Installing

Installation is done is reverse order, observe the following:

- When replacing the Climatronic control module, pay attention to the exact allocation.

- Install the center console right side trim.

After finishing the repairs, perform the following work on the Climatronic Control Module (J255) using Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051/ in the "Guided Fault Finding" function:

- Perform the coding or check the code.

- Perform the basic setting.

- Check the DTC memory (and correct the cause of any malfunctions that may be shown).

- Check adaptation.

- Perform the output diagnostic test mode if necessary.
