Battery, Preparing for Charging

Procedure

CAUTION!
Risk of explosion on discharged battery with visual indicator.

If the visual indicator has no color or is light yellow, the battery may not be tested or charged. Jump starting must not be used! There is a risk of explosion during testing, charging or jump starting. The battery must be replaced.

Before the battery charger can be connected, the following preparations are necessary:

It is recommended that the battery be charged with terminal clamps disconnected.

- Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.

- Press the battery cover to the side - arrow A - and remove it upward - arrow B -.





- Loosen nut - 2 - a few turns and remove ground wire terminal clamp from battery terminal.





- Loosen nut - 1 - a few turns and remove positive wire terminal clamp from battery terminal.

- Clamp the red battery charger charging clamp + to the positive terminal and the black charging clamp - to the battery negative terminal.

- Connect battery charger electrical system connector and switch charger on.

- Keep the front lid open while charging.
