Ring Spanner 7-Piece Set for Oxygen Sensor (3337 )

Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A)

Removing

All cable ties opened or cut during engine removal must be reinstalled at the same locations during installation.

During installation, reinstall all heat insulation sleeves and heat shields at the same locations.

Do not bend the flex joint in front of the exhaust pipe more than 10° or it could be damaged.

- Disconnect exhaust system at clamping sleeves - 1 - and - 2 -.

- Place (V.A.G 1383 A) plunger with a block of wood inserted in between - arrow - beneath rear crossmember.

- First remove bolts - 1 - and - 2 -, then bolts - 3 - and - 4 -.

- Slowly lower rear crossmember using (V.A.G 1383 A) until distance between rear crossmember/chassis acquires dimension - x -.

Dimension - x - = max. 60 mm.

Dimension - x - must not be exceeded, otherwise driveshaft joint and lines on bulkhead can be damaged.

- Remove electrical connectors from bracket on transmission.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

Coat new oxygen sensors with an assembly paste. This paste must not come into contact with sensor slots.

For a used oxygen sensor, only coat threads with hot bolt paste. This paste must not come into contact with sensor slots.

The oxygen sensor wire must always be attached at the same location when installing. Do not let the electrical wire connection come in contact with the exhaust pipe.

- Install subframe with crossmember.

- Align exhaust system free of tension.
