Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 24 number 09-05 dated March 23, 2009 for reasons listed below.





Affected Vehicles





Condition

^ EPC light on.

^ RS4 sedan only: Engine number is BNS 013153 or higher.

^ The following DTCs logged in the ECM memory:

^ P2004 - Intake Manifold Runner Control Bank 1 Stuck Open.

^ P2005 - Intake Manifold Runner Control Bank 2 Stuck Open.

^ P2006 - Intake Manifold Runner Control Bank 1 Stuck Closed.

^ P2007 - Intake Manifold Runner Control Bank 2 Stuck Closed.

These DTCs will not cause any drivability or stalling issues.

Technical Background

The cause is the software of the ECM.

Improved software for the ECM.

Service

1. Follow all instructions in the attached TSB 2011732 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.





2. Update the ECM software of the affected vehicles (two ECMs for RS4) using the SVM action code as listed in the table above if necessary.
