Torsen Housing and Differential, Removing and Installing - 6 Spd. Manual Transmission 0A3 All Wheel Drive
Note:
^ Removal can also be carried out with transmission installed.
1 - Torsen housing
^ With or without vibration dampener, depending on version
2 - Bolt -24 Nm
^ Qty. 6
3 - Plate spring
^ Installation position: The inner diameter camber faces toward flange shaft in torsen housing
4 - Adjustment shim
^ Determine thickness.
5 - Spring
^ Place on flange shaft in torsen housing
6 - O-ring
^ Always replace
^ Coat with transmission fluid
^ Insert in surrounding groove in transmission cover
7 - Torsen differential
^ Service by manufacturer only
^ Torsen differential bearing, servicing
8 - Transmission
^ Secure at assembly bracket
Torsen housing, removing
- Place oil receptacle underneath transmission.
- Drain gear oil.
- Remove screws - arrows - and remove torsen housing.
Plate spring and shim, inserting in torsen housing
- Place plate spring - B - in torsen housing - A -.
^ Plate spring installation location: The inner diameter camber faces toward flange shaft in torsen housing.
Note:
^ Redetermine thickness of shim - C -.
- Place shim - C - on plate spring - B -.
- Place spring - D - on flange shaft in torsen housing.
Torsen housing, installing
- Coat new O-ring with transmission fluid and insert in surrounding groove in transmission cover.
- Place torsen housing on transmission cover.
- Tighten bolt - arrow - to 24 Nm.
- Top off transmission fluid and check transmission fluid level in manual transmission.
