Selector Shaft With Selector Cylinder, Removing and Installing



Selector shaft with selector cylinder, removing and installing - 6 Spd. Manual Transmission 0A3 All Wheel Drive

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required





^ Multi-purpose tool VW 771/1





^ Puller T40050





Removing

- Remove bolts - arrows - and remove selector shaft cover - B -.





- Pull out both selector shaft locking bushes (- item A - in Fig. A34-0648) using multi-purpose tool VW 771/1 and puller T40050.

^ Make sure that no gear has been engaged.





- Push selector shaft - A - into transmission as far as it will go, simultaneously removing pin - B -.
- Pull out selector shaft.





Installing

Installation is performed in reverse sequence; note the following:

- Push assembly sleeve 01E 311 120 - A - onto selector shaft - B -.
- Install complete selector shaft.

^ Installation position: Chamfer of selector shaft points downwards.





- Push selector shaft - A - into transmission as far as it will go, simultaneously inserting pin - B -.

^ Installation position of pin - B -: lug on pin points in direction of transmission housing.





- Fit cover - B - and tighten bolts - arrows -.





- Drive in selector shaft locking bushes onto stop.
