Short Trip Test Basic Setting

- Press -> button until the following is indicated on the display:

Indicated on display (function selection):

Vehicle system - test HELP
Select function XX

- Press keys 0 and 4 for "Basic setting" and confirm the entry with the Q button.

Enter display group number XXX

- Press keys 0, 0 and 8 for "Perform short trip test UP 28" and confirm the entry with the Q key.

Indicated on display (function selection):

System in basic setting 8 off (4 on) ->
not oper. Pump off XXX mbar test off

- Press 4

- Firmly depress the brake pedal several times in succession (venting the brake booster) until the test is activated.

System in basic setting 8 on (8 off) ->
oper./not oper. Pump on XXX mbar test on

- The brake pedal must not be pressed once the test has been activated, as the pump is switched off when the brake pedal is actuated.

The pump evacuates the brake booster. The diagnosis of the brake booster system runs in parallel in the control module. The system passes the test if the pressure in the brake booster reaches the shut-off threshold within the time limit set by the diagnostic function (max. 20 sec).

- Press 8

- Remove diagnosis lead from diagnostic connection.

If the test shows the system is not OK, read out the DTC memory and repair the malfunction (ignition must be switched off!).

- Afterwards perform short trip test again.
