Cross brace, removing and installing

Note:
^ Cross brace is only installed on certain vehicle versions. It is located on front plenum chamber cross panel.

Cross brace allocation

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

^ Torque wrench V.A.G 1331

Removing





- Remove plenum chamber cover rubber seal in direction of - arrow -.
- Remove plenum chamber cover - 1 - forward.





- Remove combi-bolts - 2 - and - 4 -.

Combi-bolt allocation

- Remove cross brace - 1 - upward out of plenum chamber - 5 -.

3 - Left mounting bracket welded to body

6 - Right mounting bracket welded to body

- Arrow - points in direction of travel

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal.
Combi-bolt torque specification: 25 Nm
