Air Flow Door Motor (V71)

Via the lever attached to the flaps, the following operating states of the A/C system (and all intermediate settings) are possible depending on the position of the control motor:

- Backpressure/fresh air flaps closed and recirculation flap open = recirculation mode.

- Backpressure/fresh air flaps open and recirculation flap closed = fresh air mode.

- Backpressure/fresh air flaps partially closed and recirculation flap closed = backpressure mode (feedback value in display fields " 1" and "2" in the range between approx. "110" and " 170").

The "backpressure mode" position is reached only in the output diagnostic test mode when the vehicle is at a standstill.

This control motor is only installed in vehicles with steering on the left; it actuates the back pressure/fresh air flaps.

Since this control motor is not installed in vehicles with steering on the right this display group can be ignored. The fresh air flaps are moved by the recirculation flap motor (V113) in vehicle with steering on the right.

The position of the backpressure/fresh air flaps is program-controlled in the backpressure mode. Depending on the vehicle speed, the fresh air blower speed, the selected and actually measured temperatures, and the selected operating mode at the Climatronic control module (J255) A/C control head, the flaps are closed starting at approx. 80 km/h. However, the backpressure/fresh air flaps are not completely closed in backpressure mode (they always stay open enough to maintain the necessary air flow)
